After seeing the spellbinding smoke trails laid by aircraft at air shows, we observed that several E-LSA and ultra light pilots had followed their lead by building their own versions of smoke generators. Many of these systems were well thought out, fabricated and installed, while others bordered on being barely operational, with some actually unsafe. Most, if not all however, were designed and built for a specific aircraft.
Analyzing the desirability and in fact in some cases, the need for producing smoke in E-LSA and ultra lights, our thoughts followed that a single system design could be developed which would adapt to wide ranges and types of these aircraft. Given that goal and after considerable planning, design, component evaluation, selection and testing, a system was developed and “kitted” to facilitate installation on a wide range of E-LSA, ultra lights and various light aircraft. From this beginning, Sky Smoke evolved.
Sky Smoke kit design, testing and production are accomplished in an 1800 sq.ft. shop facility located in the heart of the Ozark Mountains on our ultra light air park, Blackhorse Landing (35AR) just outside Eureka Springs, AR. It has proven to be ideally sized for our current U.S and international sales. Bill Schenck, our Technical Manager, oversees these operations.
Administration and finance activities are conducted in our Berryville, AR office. All shipping is handled here. These operations are managed by Leigh Spargur,our Admin/Finance Manager.
Our Managers are "retirees" and powered parachute pilots who keep trying to make retirement work. It hasn’t yet.
